Greenwich International Film Festival
A Retrospective of Memories at the Capitol Theater
I collaborated with the Greenwich International Film Festival (GIFF), Studio 162, and the Capitol Theater to create custom video projections for their 5th annual gala event in 2019. The goal was to create projection decor that gave the feeling of a museum art installation. They wanted to create something special that would recognize the philanthropic work and events they had done over the last 5 years as well as thank donors for their patronage.
I put together a montage of GIFF’s best images from over the past five years of their events and animated them in a subtle movement across the interior walls of the Capitol Theater. I created different sequences so that the videos on the walls changed throughout the evening from a mosaic of retrospective images, to animated branding, as well as donor names that would animate up on the walls throughout the evening as a “thank you”.
The video projections on every wall added a personalized element to the interior of the theater and a beautiful consistency to the design throughout the space. Patrons loved seeing their names and photographs in the decor and the Capitol Theater reached out to work with me on future projects.
